I remember the time when I was in Navodaya, my school. I had the opportunity to visit the school library with my classmates twice a week. At that time, I had little interest in reading the books except from my syllabus.
I can’t exactly remember the class but during the library period, I noticed the book “ Wings of Fire”. I inquired about the book from the librarian Mrs. Anupama Awasthi. She is very polite but strict in discipline. The librarian gave me a book summary that seemed interesting at first. I borrowed the book and read about two or three pages on the same day, and I kept it for a week. I got nothing interesting in the book so I returned it.
Missing of Opportunity to Meet Kalam
It was my school time when I had the opportunity to borrow books from the library and to read. But somehow I leave the opportunity behind.
Now, I remember the thought shared by the principal of my school Mr. Yogendra Bhagat, “If you want to talk with the greatest personality of all time, Just read their books.” This thought hit my mind and I bought a book titled “Wings of Fire” which I left unfinished approx 7 to 8 years ago.
This book is written by the then-president of India and a well-known scientist late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. It is the autobiography of a great man. I am not going to elaborate on the book but I am sharing my then possibilities if I finished the book on that schooling days. Now I think the book is evolutionary and motivational enough for every student. This book is capable of generating the enthusiasm for personal and professional life of anyone. Dr. Kalam, itself a symbol of humbleness, dedication, hard work, perseverance, and so on, delivers the best explanation or detailed sketch of his life.
Kalam: The impression
It was highly possible if I had finished the book, I would have to opt for Aeronautical Engineering. Now I am not a student of Aeronautical Engineering but a student of Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Law.
The book has left a deep impression on me. I finished my discussion with the missile man’s ideas of dream and make it happen in anyway attitude.
